Purchased some Stirling shave soap from The Shaving Time Company Ltd top class stuff.

The collapsible bowl is the best bowl I have ever had to make a lather, unreal how quick and full it gets, I can highly recommend it works out at approx €10
The shaving soap is the same whips up a lovely lather with some great scents, I have the Mountain man and the Bergamot, I would imagine I will get at least 16 months or more from each soap which is 164g jar, works out approx €20 delivered.
A nice splash of witch hazel and aloe with Bay rum is a nice compliment to settle things.
Top class Soap and bowl and plenty of other products to try couldnt fault these..

Heres a link to the site

I got two Stirling soaps last September and I impressed with their longevity. Did you get the Bergamot and Lavender one? I think the lather it produces is a bit weak. I also bought the coconut and lime soap and that produces an excellent lather.

What are the most popular soaps for those who like a good lather?
Thought id try out a de razor and didnt want to spend much in case it wasn't for me so bought a Wilkinson Sword Classic Double Edge Safety Razor Gift Set from amazon warehouse. When using iy im half surprised to find myself clean shaven afterwards as i use it very gently and just notice a tickle so the result is good. The soap that came with it is useless though so want to try other blades perhaps a bit sharper and a different soap.

There is loads of choice have a look at the link to shaving.ie above. My favourite is proraso shaving cream. Its easy to get a good lather with. I've tried loads of different soaps and creams but have yet to find one that suits me better.

There's a huge choice out there. This place has an even bigger variety:

There is a huge artisan variety even. The best I've found is Barrister and Mann:

    https://www.maggardrazors.com/product-category/soaps-creams/all-brands-shaving-soap-cream/

But if you just want a simple, cheap, anyone can get a good lather you could as easily shop on Amazon and get a Palmolive, Arko, or Tabac shaving stick. Just rub on your face and apply a wet brush and the lather just explodes... you can't fail.

Lastly, remember you can just use your regular tinned goo while you master your razor. There's some great soaps recommended above which might be better for your skin and will definitely smell nicer. Also using a brush might offer some benefits with ingrown hairs / exfoliating pores. But regular shaving foam/gel is fine too.

Picked up the bowl based on the recommendations here.

Was surprised at the cheap packaging when it arrived. Had a look online and sure enough the exact bowl is available a lot cheaper from chinese sellers. It's marketed by them as a dog water bowl but it's exactly the same as the one I got from sterling.

The bowl is excellent, and I'd highly recommend it. At €3/€4 you'd be mad to not get one.

Speaking of dog bowls I ordered this one from Amazon. It's so handy and by far the best bowl I've ever used and only a fraction of the cost. I like the fact that it's rubber and collapsible, handy for travel.
