Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the point of the assistant behind the goal with goal line technology?

No goal line technology in European competitions i think

Really UEFA, a fella with a flag?

Doesn't look over the line. Shocking keeping though. Pity we haven't got a better one on the bench.

Looks 100% over the line to me.

Ah that's hilariously bad goalkeeping. Still can't understand how he managed it. We need to be hammering these. Some mess of a first half.

So a jammy deflection and a dodgy decision...

No goal line technology on the CL as far as I know.

Also I think that's the first time that I've ever seen one of those pillocks behind a goal make any sort of a decision. They normally wouldn't even call a most obvious corner/goal kick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,094 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Surely that's an Ospina OG. Ball wasn't goalbound till he got his butter fingers on it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,264 ✭✭✭✭jester77

Well over the line, that's shocking goalkeeping at any level. He wasn't under any pressure.

Nothing dodgy about it. Was well over the line.

    Have you got Hawkeyes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Well I don't think he'll be getting the nod ahead of Cech again. 2 goals that were totally preventable. F*ck sake lads

To be fair he didn't stand a chance at saving the first goal.

I can't say for definate that that ball crossed the line

Look at the replays. There was clear air when it bounced and then it bounced up and even further over the line.

    How it's not a OG I don't know though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

He can't be blamed for a wicked defection for the first, defenders not defending!

Clear air?? It bounced on the line!

Paulista should never have given the corner away, all he had todo was hoof it clear.
Ive defended Ospina but that was a disaster.
OX is scared ****less, just wants to cross it first chance even before anyones in the box..

but whats the point of the crosses , they look very big at the back, far taller on avg than our front men.

If we lose this, are we better off third or fourth? Id like a European run even if its a lower tier competition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Ffs this team are desperately trying to give me a feckin ulcer!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

Get the fook out of Europe completely

    (Vote UKIP)

Looks over the line for me too.

So why exactly did we buy cech again? Our one fcuking summer signing and Wenger is rotating keeper in the CL ffs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 491 ✭✭flyingoutside

Ox has been so poor this season. I hoped he be pushing on this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

Getting real sick of Ospina getting played in big matches.

Nah screw that Thursday night crap. Would rather be out. It's only a round earlier than usual anyway.

Its an absolute appalling decision to be honest. It just doesnt make any sense.

Ox is like a faster Welbeck

Loyalty costs us again. Ospina should be subbed for Cech at half time for that.

Ospina fcuked up but the decision to play him wasn't the worst decision

Same way Gibbs and Ox are starting

The squad is good enough on paper to beat these, we still will

Santi off and Ramsey on for me. Dont know what to do with the Ox

This is the perfect confidence boost just ahead of the game on Sunday...

I asked the question at the start of the game as to why Cech was dropped. I still haven't had an answer, apart from DO was promised some big games. If that's really the case, then AW should be shot with balls of his own excrement. This is a must win game, where if we lose, we won't qualify for the CL group stages. Yes, I know we got no luck with their goals, but fnck me, if you have a WC keeper, you play him when possible 100% of the time. It's not like he can get fatigued!!!

Very frustrated Gooner here right now.

A minor semi final in GAA can have Hawkeye used yet Europe's biggest club competition isn't arsed. Class.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭wawaman

Sure why play your best players in a match you need to win

Wenger said Cech has a slight calf injury but why is he on the bench so?

One of Wenger's many failings is his blinded stupid loyalty to players over the team. Seen enough of it at this stage. Look how long Almunia was allowed to cost us games.

Wenger said something about a calf injury on bt before the game but if he's fit enough to be on the bench....
