Andy Preston Leaving FM104

Looks like Andy P is leaving 104? I’ve heard him being covered a bit lately and Tara Murray even had her own imaging for it. Anybody know why? He’s been there fifteen years or something I think.

Andy Preston has been there from 1995.
He has been doing the 10 to 3 show for the last 17 years.
It is big shoes to fill to take over the best DJ fm104 has.

I’ll miss hearing him on FM104, I recall his various names on the station and have been laotneings since he started.

I hope he gets weekday slot on Q102.

She only re-joined Beat in February and is leaving again a few months later,shes a decent enough presenter so should do ok in Dublin

Always loved when he filled in for Al on Freaks on Friday and when he did it before Al Gibbs and the good old days of Sunset etc.

Believe it or not, I first heard Andy Preston on Sunset Radio! It's a long time since I heard him on FM104 as I would not be a regular listener to that station. I do remember the dance show he used to present on Fridays on FM1O4.

The last song Andy play was Gangsta's Paradise. It was also the first song he play when he join FM104. hope to hear him soon back on the radio

Prior to Andy's arrival on FM104, he would have been largely associated with the dance scene. He was a deejay on dance pirates Sunset, Rhythm FM and Hot 107, and he was involved with the dance club scene. Incidentally, I happened to be listening to non-dance pirate Coast FM one Sunday, circa 1994, when Andy Preston was a guest presenter! I believe he had previously been a presenter with Radio Dublin, though. The move to Q102 will be like another phase in his radio career.
