    Is it pure bred?

I don’t think so. I am clueless about dogs though.

Gorgeous dog. Can't help about the breed. Jack Russell colouring but think his face is too wide for a JRT?

Looks like most Shih Tzu crosses I meet that has a splash of Jack Russell in him, or similar. What does he weigh and how old is he?

I have seen chihuahua/terriers crosses that look like that 2

I would suggest a Jack Russell/Shih Tzu cross

JRT I was trying to think of what the second mix was...was thinking pug but too flat faced but I'd say you are right - ****zu.

To OP, not sure why you asking, but be very careful if you are considering buying this dog.

    Thanks folks

Dog belongs to a friend of a friend. Lovely little thing, just curious what sort of dog it was. He’s about 2 or so and probably 30 maybe 40 pounds.

Get a dog DNA test done. You can purchase online, they send the kit in the post, you just need to swab some saliva send it back and in a couple of weeks they will generate a report detailing the exact breakdown of your dogs DNA to identify the mix of breeds.

This is who dnaireland use bit it is cheaper to go through them directly. https://www.wisdompanel.com/en-us

From the additional photos I'm back to my original guess, jrt x pug. The body is chunky like a pug.

    Looks like a cross between a bulldog and a shi.tzu , I'd call it a Bullshi.t

That was just as funny when I heard it for the first time as a child in the school yard :D
That's a long time ago, I tells ya

Whilst I'm at it, and I'm not normally a Grammar Nazi... but because ye are putting the boards profanity checker into an early grave, it's spelled Shih Tsu.
I sometimes see it spelled Shih Tzu.
The name is not, and never has been, a reference to faecal matter :o

Looks similar to a Jack Russel x Pug I’ve groomed before! (I believe the madey uppey designer name is “Jug” :o )

    Definitely a pure-bred Heinz!

Definitely a Pug Cross, quite possibly with a Jack Russell
