Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'll very much enjoy my day if it goes ahead as planned

Be grand if they rescheduled for early 2021 but more than likely it will be November 2021

I cant see an arena opening up with only half capacity as i cant see them offering to charge 50% rental fee to promoters. A promoter wont want to run gigs where they cant make a large profit from an arena show

This will be knocked back a year .
Ticket sales for the UK are poor ,they added second nights in places like Manchester,Glasgow,Newcastle, and Leeds when 1 night would have been sufficient.
Similarly the 2nd night in Dublin has sold poorly as well.
The prices are too high .

    Moved to April 15th and 16th 2021.
Now taking place on a Thursday and Friday night instead of a Monday and Tuesday.
Dublin is no longer the start of the tour.

Tuesday becomes Friday. Excellent. Booked. Thanks for the heads up!

Damn it gigless for the rest of 2020 but the show is earlier then expected for 2021. Think night 2 might sell a bit better with it been a Friday

Roll on the 15th April 2021

Friday suits me, can make a night of it now. Hotel booked and all :)

    Be worth it

Let's hope Phil is in better shape than the end of his recent solo tour

I knw some people don't like finding out the setlist but it can be handy for toilet/drinks breaks. Love 'Jesus he knows me' but can't see them playing that

If attendees do decide to go for multiple pisses, burgers, hot dogs and beers during the gig - as if none of these things are available in any other setting - lets hope it's not as bad as at Billy Joel in the Aviva in 2018.

The band and music was excellent, I thought, but it was like sitting in the middle of a shopping centre, the amount of people in and out throughout the whole gig.

There were people leaving their seats numerous times during the gig, and missing chunks of the show, each time, whole songs. It was difficult to ignore them as they were walking in and out, across the flat seated area, obstructing the view of the stage.

All big stadium/arena gigs are like that, people half there for the music and half for the night out/gloating element. Kind of going for the Isle seats now cause of it, constant up and down for whatever reason

Another gripe is people shouting 'play this and that', not a fan of loud singers too (I paid to hear the band playing sing not you ha)

Can't wait for live music to return

Went to a gig late last year and there was a lad behind me shouting at the band over and over again to play a specific song. Unfortunately, in his drunken state, he missed them playing it about 20 minutes beforehand... Absolute melt and took a lot of restraint not to turn around and tell him to STFU

reminds me of when I was at the rolling stones in Croker. A group of lads arrived and started having a loud full blown chat about college in Galway to a group in the row below during the first song (Symphony for the devil). Paying all that money just to have a chat, stay in the pub then

Wasn't at the gig myself but a-ha started there recent dublin gig with 'take on me'. That was kick in the arse for event junkies who prob went for that song and expecting them to do it near the end ha

We should be in the 3Arena tonight :(:(

Looking likely this will postponed again and may happen in Autumn 2021 or 2022

I think it would be risky to rearrange for 21, I’m surprised to hear on the radio that tickets are still being given away for shows in spring 21 for various different artists I just cannot see them happening.

prob not the strongest of lineups of the band but love the version of Follow You Follow Me (starts at 1.25.20)

Regarding the The Last Domino? Tour no way will it go ahead as scheduled. Could be moved to Autumn 2021 (arena availability another issue for that time) or sometime in 2022 :(

Just doesent sound the same without Collins.
Agreed, i’d say it will be deferred till next year tbh, as a good chunk of the specific audience is, mainly in the high risk over 60, category,

Wilson was a poor choice, someone like Fish would have been better. On the other hand, they were pretty irrelevant by 1997 regardless of who was singing; Collins' solo career was on the wane as well.

Rescheduled once again to Wednesday 15th September 2021 and Thursday 16th September 2021. Open nights of the tour again

Tickets originally booked for Thursday the 15th of April 2021 will now be valid for Wednesday the 15th of September 2021.

Tickets originally booked for Friday the 16th of April 2021 will now be valid for Thursday the 16th of September 2021.

Gigs very much up in the air as there scheduled for mid September

Me thinks If the UK shows can go ahead at full capacity and Dublin can't then the Dublin shows will be cancelled simple as (public health advice will be the clause in the contract for the cancellation)

Without a doubt. Ireland will just get cancelled if they can still go ahead with UK and North America. Too early to say how likely the UK dates are at this point. Cases creeping up there again now

vast majority should have been vaccinated by then, when do they have to make a decision I wonder?

    Mid summer I'd say

I'll be over the moon if this goes ahead as scheduled in Dublin

The line of 'the compilation will be released on 17th September in conjunction with the start of The Last Domino? Tour' is interesting

Sounds like Dublin shows will be cancelled/postponed and the tour may kick off in Belfast on the 18th Sep and do the UK arenas

  • Registered Users Posts: 962 ✭✭✭Burty330

It won't be happening. Genesis will long be retired by the time this country reopens for concerts. Leo let slip last week that nightclubs are a long way off from returning. Both gigs and nightclubs will return at the same time.

They refuse to talk about a live music roadback because they have no intention of opening up that sector for the foreseeable future. MM is just too cowardly to deal with the backlash. . Compared to other Euro states this government is outdated and trailing behind by decades. They still have that old catholic strict school master mentality. .

Looking there Erasure have swapped the Dublin gig to be part of a 2022 European leg with the UK dates going ahead this year as planned

Genesis could do similar. Have there gig in Birmingham as a back up. I'll be getting a refund for the Dublin gig. Quick flight across.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,289 ✭✭✭fafy

Genesis now postponed, new dates too be confirmed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    Yep very disappointing

Refund and head over to the UK for me now

I’d say this will be cancelled, unless, they add it on to, after the 3 London O2 gigs in mid October. They have the US tour, in Nov/Dec, so its very unlikely to 2 standalone Dublin gigs after the US tour

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Might be added to a 2022 European Arenas leg or something

I requested a refund and hopefully see them in the UK

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,289 ✭✭✭fafy

My understanding is, TM won’t process a refund, until, the revised dates are announced.

Maybe this has changed ? But that was the way last year, when i requested a refund for a gig that was postponed, but dates were not announced until well after the initial postponement, at which time, i reapplied for a refund, and it was processed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Got an email saying my refund has been processed

The bands social media accounts have no mention of the Dublin Postponement yet. Would like to know if the UK dates are going ahead as planned because flights are so cheap etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

The bands management remaining very quite

No mention on any social media channels about the Dublin postponement. Would like to know is the UK leg going ahead so I can plan etc

Have The Belfast Gigs been Prosponed???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    Not yet

Hard to know will they postpone it because its the only scheduled trip across the irish Sea in this leg (with Dublins news dates TBC). They might add another Belfast show

Got my Dublin ticket refunded and bought one for Birmingham night 2. Be nice to get a trip away for the night.

    I'll stay positive

  • Registered Users Posts: 33 Jpb7

    Sounds like a great plan....

I Can't see Genesis returning after the US Tour...Phil Collins isn't as "Energetic" as he used to be ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,878 ✭✭✭Zardoz

I don't think the Glasgow dates can go ahead under current restrictions, they have to apply for a licence for events over 2k indoors in Scotland.

Probably reschedule the Irish and Scotland gigs for next year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

The band still haven't announced the postponment of the Dublin shows on any of there social media channels.

Reckon (and hoping) they will still do the English arena dates this year with the Dublin and Glasgow shows part of a 2022 European tour

I requested a refund, at the weekend and received it yesterday. Might consider it again if rescheduled to next year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Belfast on the 18th September has been postponed

As it stands the tour will have 14 dates in England with 2 in Scotland. Kicking off on the 21st Sep in Birmingham

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Won't be happy till I'm sitting in my seat in the arena on the 21st Sep

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

production looks great, phils vocals a bit rusty and some songs been tuned down a key or 2 but looking forward to the tour regardless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

Ticket master says re the Dublin dates - postponed, dates announced soon. Anyone heard anything further?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    Nope

If i was to guess id say the Dublin and Belfast will be part of a 2022 European leg of the tour. Looking at fan sites a lot of fans from Europe that cant travel to the UK due to travel restrictions. No reason why the band wont cash in on a European tour

Collins looks in a heap, are they still wheeling him out on stage?
