I'd definitely advise buying chocolates for your date, essentially for two reasons.

    1. Its makes you look generous and a rather caring bloke – which will vastly increase your chance of getting something out of your date later.
    2. Girls generally tend to not stuff their faces whilst in the company of men. So you can eat the chocolates more or less entirely by yourself on the journey to the debs.

I ate 3/4 of a two tray €21 box of milktray on the way to my debs.

Went to a debs the other day there, got home at 12.30pm, after a house party with kegs. I had a fecking great time even though my date got sick everywhere and fell unconscious....

    Ahh good times.

    Hey Grimes, r u an ex-ashfield head?

We had our debs in La Touche Hotel in Greystones, about a week ago. it was a pile of s***e.
Bad food, tiny dancefloor, 5.80 for a pint... f@cking hell

The photos should be good tho, provided I see them eventually!

Had it in Killiney Court on the 4th, some mad stories, some great laughs, only problem was some people went home too early.
Place is being converted so there are no more debs there so a review is pointless, ill try and post some photos if i go to my friends.

I just found out my debs will be in the ambassador hotel, and was wondering could anyone warn me how much of a rip off the bar will be?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,263 ✭✭✭Caesar_Bojangle

I think we had ours in The Ambassador hotel in Kildare. It was in Kildare anyway. There was karaoke - which I owned like Steven Hawking on six E's. The place seemed pretty barren. The drink wasn't overly expensive but the food was diabolical, especially the breakfast. The music was dire.

F*cking A! Karaoke makes up for bad food! Man, the girl I'm bringing is gonna hate me by the time that night's over.

Hey there people, I'm thinking ahead at the moment to next years event. Especially since I'm on the organising committee. The two people who mentioned the Shamrock Lodge and the Hudson Bay: What schools were the nights ye were at?
How did ye find them? ie. How late was bar open?, Any hassle for the Under agers etc.?

Aloysisus - Was in the Lodge for mine, was a great night. Only thing i was disappointed about was we were kicked out around 4/5ish can't quite remember the correct time. I wanted to stay for breakfast :S lol. No probs with the bar everyone got served, but BE WARNED only allow student + 1 guest, and make sure they only let people with tickets in!!! we had a problem with some scumbags at ours, money and phones were robbed, some of the bastards were caught i'm told, oh and jackets also went missing too. tell people to keep an eye on their stuff! Oh also tell them not to lose their bow ties lol (keep it in the inside pocket :)). The food was good, the music was great, even though i had my doubts about the band at first (Royal Flush) they turned out good + had music when they finished up too. A good night was had by me anyways :D and I'd say by most the others too, unless something went missing on you!

    have fun :)

i've got a legal-aged eh, escort so i'll maybe just use my youthfulness as an excuse to make him buy all the drink. bitch that i am.

that is a FABULOUS dress. second most fabulous dress i've ever seen like, after me own. (no offence, i'm just slightly biased) which is quite like http://www.loralie.com/proms.php3?s=7738 in that colou an' all, cept with a much prettier bodice. ****e, now i want gloves.

i don't mean to sound like such a... girl, but jesus the dresses on that site are SO PRETTY, if i had have known...

I paid €120 for my suit with an additional €50 deposit, and the bastard of a thing had all of its pockets stitched together.

I understand that they are all like this (mine is) coz:

    a) The IRA used to drop explosives into coat pockets in suit shops up the north

    b) Apparently it stops the pockets from creasing! :D

anyway its only light stitching. Pull at it or take a scissors to it. It'll open dead easy

I do not take responsibility for the information just given. If you cut yourself, someone else or just make a balls of your jacket, I am NOT responsible.

That's a really pretty dress. I know I should have mine bought and all by now, but I can't bring myself to be over girly...

Meh...It's too far away to REALLY care. I mean, wittness FIRST.
