Pissing rain Cork City

Suddenly gone dark here and the skies have opened. Pelting down:(

Was a day of three halves here in Kilkenny!!; nice, bright sunny morning, then horrific heavy torrential rain mid-morning-midday, now glorious sunshine for the afternoon

A bit sunny, high wind, F4 slackening [?] gust 43km/h @ 11:10

Pressure rising slowly, 990.3 hPa. Dry.

One of the heaviest rain showers I can ever recall occurred here in West Limerick in the last hour.

Reviewing the Met Eireann rainfall radar clearly shows the band of rain, and I would have expected to see echos closer to the purple on the scale rather than the yellow. However, it was reasonably short lived, <10 minutes and perhaps the wind made it seem more intense than it actually was. Anyhow, a memorable shower.

So I stayed up and get DEAD CALM.

I think I'm jinxed, the last storm had major thunder and lightning and I slept threw. ?

9°C, F2 but my flag is not even moving, zero point nine mm of rain and 985 hPa ↓--

I thought I was having a bomb there for a minute.

My pressure bombed 980 hPa but that was more than 10 hPa below everybody else, including my handheld Kestral.

New batteries all around and I'm now back in good weather with sunshine normal readings.

Phew, I thought I was being hit be a twister or downdraft for a second.
