    Hi Folks

Just checking the GFS model on weatheronline.co.uk for the next week. There could be a cyclone albeit not near as strong as Cyclone Phailin hitting Western India by the 30th October. Upper level winds are good for development before the storm interacts with the Subtropical jet and weakens due to increased wind sheer.

In the model it starts out as a disturbance moving west/northwestward off the subcontinent out on the Arabian Sea before being steered back north east by interacting with the subtropical jet.

Hopefully It may just end up being a Tropical Storm , but we'll keep an eye on it nonetheless:

Very interested with this as I live right on the arabian coast, the last couple of cyclones here, Phet and Gono, caused a huge amount of damage and many deaths.

The models are now showing a weaker cyclone. Basically we won't really know for another few days.
