I used 13434 over the past many, many years on & off to call abroad. I got the following message today below. Just wondering what alternatives people are using, particularly to UK mobiles?

    I'm with GoMo.
    Dear Customer,

Due to circumstances outside of Call 13434, we are terminating our services with effect from March 15.

From this date, you will no longer be able to call through our carrier selection code 13434 and the special access numbers.

Any outstanding amounts will be taken around the 16th of March. Please make sure you download any invoices and check call details online before May 2021.

If you have any concerns about this message or need further support, please contact us through the helpdesk on our website (menu option 'Contact').

    Kind regards,

    Call 13434

Any of the VOIP providers should work with a stable 3G/4G connection or fixed line broadband.

Yolla and Viber Out are other similar options.

I don't think I saw Dialwise on that list.

It seems they're leaving the Irish market on March 15 as well. I wonder if they are both part of the same company or why are they both leaving in March?

    Similar with https://www.cheapcalls.ie/

They're owned by a Swiss company called 'Finarea SA' as mentioned in the ABOUT page of each website mentioned above...

Today is March 4th. I was just trying to use Dialwise, and I guess they've already withdrawn?? Tried many times and just got the engaged signal.

Soooo... are there similar alternatives are out there via phone?? I use Viber a lot, but some in my family are strictly landline folks....

    Cheapcalls.ie pulling out.
My dad uses it ringing the UK

He doesn't have a smart phone

VOIP providers have an option to make calls via a local access number. Better to use it from a PAYG account with unlimited minutes to ensure no extra charges for calling 076 numbers (it should be treated as any other mobile / landline call)

I haven't used this option but it appears to work in a similar way to the discontinued services mentioned above.

There are also other providers with different rates depending on the destination.

Cheapest UK mobile rate is from this seller...

I used telestunt before it changed to cheapcalls

Anyone know why all these services are leaving the Irish Market? Wonder if it's just uneconomical for them here.
