This is a long shot I know, but here goes. When I was a young fella, there were loads of orchards around, just like every other town and village in the country. Most of the eating apple varietys in my area, were small reddish apples, which had a pink Hugh to the flesh, and also had a strong sweet smell.

Would anyone know what variety of apples these might be? I would love to have a couple of these apple tree's growing in my garden, so even something similar to what I discribed would be great, thanks.

Sounds a bit like Beauty Of Bath maybe?
Pink/red hued flesh and a lovely sweet eating apple.
