Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    HI there,
a new sub forum has been created in order to stream line the forum overall.
This sub forum is to cater specifically for Arcade Home Builds, which demands a good community to support those who are diving into creating their own arcade cabinets, uprights, cocktails and bartops and everything in between.
So, enjoy, I know this will be a valuable resource for all and please read the charter for the forum.
To start with this will be common with the main A&R forum but this will be further tailored as time goes on.

Also, while emulation might come up please remember to still adhere to the rules about copyright ccovered material.

It also frees up the main forum to cater specifically to original hardware, real cabs, pcb's, arcade monitors etc. That stuff tended to get drowned out by the mamecab stuff :)

So this doesnt apply to restoring cabs just purely building a cab from scratch?

Edit: answered already by enternow, sorry about that!

A cab restoration would technically be legit hardware, so stuff like that would remain in the main forum. Mame cab builds, questions, frontend config, ipac/jpac stuff etc can all go in the new subforum as Cidey mentioned :)

Well then if that can be separated why not have a Boulder Dash forum.

All the Rockford goodness concentrated in one superb forum

Only problem is you'll need to sign up for multiple boards accounts to generate conversation :D

Just a bit confused on where the distinction between original and home build lies. There's posts in the new forum about coin mechs and step downs that are related to original hardware and not home builds?

What about Mame/360 setups inside original cabs - main forum or new?

Not being awkward, just wouldn't want to post in the wrong place. :)

With the 'post' or the 'placement' :D

I wouldn't get too hung up on exactly what goes where once its 'ballpark' accurate and I mean in regard to posting about new builds verses cab restorations.

I think it's ridiculous that this forum was created when there is a much greater need for a forum for quarantining Atavan Halen in until he gets back from holidays.

Those posts were put there in error, indeed coin mechs & step downs are generally used on real cabs & import cabs accordingly.

Regards Mame/360 setups inside original cabs, I suppose it would depend on the context of the question. For example, if your question pertains to Mame or a JPAC etc, then it should go in the new subforum, but if its pertaining to monitor issues, control wiring etc, then it belongs in the main forum.

There's no hard & fast rule, it'll find its feet over the next while :)
