Are there a gardening/landscaping student out there who might like to come and recommend ways to revamp our garden? Looking for someone who will take a look and give their recommendation, and would sketch out a proposal on how to use the space (1 acre around house).

We really require ideas for now and don't want to ask landscaping companies until we have an idea of what could be done and some suggestions on the space.

We are based in North Wicklow and would like to talk to someone who wants to put in an hour or two to chat to us about how they would approach the garden.

This should be a starting point for us to give us ideas.

    Thanks

if you're looking for professional advice, my advice would be to seek professional advice.
it sounds like you're looking for someone's time and knowledge for free, the way that post comes across; it's probably worth clarifying that point.

You will be looking at around 250 euro and upwards for a consultation and proposal/design drawn up.

Our experience is that asking a company to give a plan and quote isn't great as they focus on their sales and push their services.

The plan is to see if a student or person working in a garden centre would give some of their time and get paid for this advice.

Looking for good honest advice, not a sales pitch.

    Thanks.

Its not a sales pitch at all and Im not selling you anything either.

You dont think students put in the same time and effort then?Designs/drawings also cost money too,as planning/scaling,effort,thought and time has to go into doing them.

You can also look into buying various garden design and landscaping books from various book stores and shops. These books will give you good ideas for your garden, and not break the bank.
