Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Early printing of Wagner's Tannhauser in English

Perhaps this belongs in either Music or Antiques, but I'm wondering if someone here can help me.

I've recently come into possession of a book, called Tannhauser, the "author" being listed on the side as Richard Wagner. In it is a complete English translation of the opera of the same name, along with illustrations. It has a leather cover with gold writing. The only real thing identifiying its origin is the title on the 3rd page:

"Tannhauser, a Dramatic Poem by Richard Wagner, Freely translated by T.W. Rolleston. Presented by Willy Pogany. George G Harrap & Co. Ltd. London, Calcutta, Sydney"

It was given to my grandmother by her siblings in 1944, though I suspect it is somewhat older than that, what I've found on the internet would suggest it was printed in either 1911 or 1940. There is no copyright or release information in it.

I have no intention of selling this whatsoever, what I need is advice on what to do with it... The spine is somewhat damaged, I like being able to read through it. Should I get it rebound? Will this destroy its authenticity?

Any advice would be gratefully received.
