UCC Postgraduate/Masters student accommodation

    What is the best accommodation in UCC for postgraduate students? On campus preferably and somewhere quiet and not full of undergraduates. Also, when do accommodation applications open does anyone know? Thank you

    Most postgraduate courses are open since December, but courses ran through Springboard open later in Spring.

    Any on campus accommodation will be full of undergraduates, you're better off looking for a room in the city if you don't want to be around youngins.

    Are websites like "Rent.ie" and "Daft.ie" the only way you can find a room in Cork City? The rent for just one room is really high on these sites...

    The majority of listings are shared on facebook groups, like Cork Student accommodation or UCC student accommodation etc. A lot of these tenancies are unregistered and much cheaper.

    The prices for rooms in that Facebook group are still quite expensive . You're talking on average 600 to 700 Euros just from looking at a few examples. Is this normal?

    If it's not advertised as student accommodation it will be more expensive. Student houses are generally a bit ****tier and so the rent is less. Try "UCC accommodation search", "Cork Student accommodation 2020-2021" and "Cork accommodation". For any decent double room expect to pay >€100/week. Especially if its nearer the city. On campus accommodations are about €5500 - €6000 for September - May. There was a lot of vacancies in them this year, same probably next year too
