Underhand campaigning

I wanted a look at Maria Walsh's policies after the debate last night and the first site that came up, a sponsored ad, was this...

https://www.mariawalshforeurope.com

Is this allowed here? I'm saddened to see we've stooped to the sort of thing we see in America.

As long as they do not say anything factually incorrect I do not have an issue.
Political ads, however, should have the paying parties identified.

Somebody sneaky, devious, with money and time on their hands doesn't want her in. Smells a bit homophobic and ageist too.

If I was in her area, I'd be thinking she must be doing something right. Pity the brave folk behind the site have hidden their details.

Enoch Burke - a member of Ireland equivalent of the Westboro Baptists.

Set up similar targetting David Norris during the presidential election in 2011

Based on who is behing it - it's pretty obvious that there's nothing more than homophobia driving this.

In fairness they do mention their name on the site.
It's Enoch Burke and the Burke clan, has done this sort of thing before inc with a DavidNorrisForPresident website.

Actually relatively young himself, tried to cause ructions when he was a student in NUIG with various Catholic student groups.

Edit : Hmmmm, I'm a slow typer.

I checked who the domain was registered to - it's all hidden. Didn't bother reading the site. Could still be different folk of curse, using the bould Enoch as a stooge.
Pity he doesn't stand himself.

I think I'd have a little more time for someone whose only qualification was being an activist of any sort, compared to those whose only qualification is being Mammy or Daddy's big boy/girl.

Enoch's name isn't hidden, it's there under My Aim

It seems they are old school Christians with modern methods.

Bit of googling around the family lead to burkebroadcast.com, which links to an associated flickr. This contains a screencap of a post from boards Don't quite the significance of it.
