I am not sure if this is the place for this but anyways i am gonna ask.

What song reminds you of christmas, i know there is currently something going on with another thread but i think it is just trying to fix some poll or somthing but i was just wondering what song would make you think well its that time of the year.

Mine has to be Dean Martin - Let it snow.

looking forward to having 10 days off does it for me!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,309 ✭✭✭✭Bard

Never heard of the song "looking forward to having 10 days off" ... :p

He did ask about songs didn't he?

Speaking about Christmas music, I think I'm at the stage now where each time I hear a Christmas song I'm bopping along and thinking "ahhh thats nice... Christttmassssss... :) " ... in ... oh... a week's time, every time I hear one, I'll probably want to punch someone.

    Dusty Springfield - Goin' Back.

    Great song.

(Reminds me of Christmas because of the ESB ad featuring it.)

    Just thought of another one...

Mike Oldfield - In Dulci Jubilo

Instrumental tune, recognisable once you hear it. :)

o holy night - it aint christmas till i've got the chance to sing that!

driving home for christmas also gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside!

    open fires
    scarves
    candles
    the smell of wood smoke
    cinnamon......

    i could go on...(and i probably will...)......

yes, but it must be played between 7 - 7.30am i think its a legal requirement of early morning djs to play it during the run up to christmas as soon as you wake up.

that and fairytale of new york(that can be played at any time of the day), a modern day classic.

    anything else shoud be destroyed.

    all good so far -
while it mightn't be the first song you'd think of, santa baby has to be the sexiest, bestest christmas song there is.
oh the hangover making it so hard to remember how to spell and concentrate. how what's left of my brain hurts.....

have to say the "driving home for christmas" always reminds me of a trip i had home from my grandparents place and it started snowing and with full lights on it was like warp factor 9.

When the nights get dark early and it is cold puts me in to Christmas mood. The thing I will allways remember about Christmas is singing "Holy Night" with my dad at midnight mass every Christmas Eve

The best Xmas song is Merry Christmas everyone by Slade. You know the one....

" Are you hanging up a stocking on your wall
Are you hoping that the snow will start to fall
Do you ride around the hillside
In a party you have made
When you land upon your head and you've been 'sleighed'

So here it is Merry Christmas, everybody's having fun
(It's Christmas!) Look to the future now, it's only just begun

Dreadful, i know, but the songs that have made me really feel like it's Christmas since I was a kid are 'Stop the Cavalry' - Jonah Lewie and 'I Believe in Father Christmas' - Greg Lake.
