Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anybody else feel the decent of "the red mist" at this time of year due to the insistance of every single shop, pub, restaurant and even taxi playing the same F**KING christmas music tape over and over.
It's a strange phenomonon when people who throughout the course of the year seem normal and rational. people with a level of taste generally accepted by the enlightened all of a sudden turn into dribbling brain damaged demented tellytubbys with the opening bars of frosty the c**ksucking ar**raming snowman.
The producers of this...........this.........cancer must be held accountable. They are the spawn of satan (an anogram of santa bty)
When I hear the unmistakable sound of slaybells in the snow........THATS when I reach for my revolver.

The first person I hear this year, that thinks they're being cute or original by playing some christmas song on their Nokia, get stabbed in the eye. I almost went mad last Christmas Eve walking down grafton st and that damn tune going off every 5 secs

FYI a friend of mine was walking down Grafton St and Brown Thomas was blaring their usual Christmas cheer at 120 decibels onto the street. My mate got so riled that he went in and demanded to speak to the manager. He told him that if he didn't turn the music down he would call the Gards and state a public health violation.

The manager turned the music down.

You're all nuts, Christmas music is great!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,031 ✭✭✭El Marco

Omg what is it with people on the internet and bitterness towards all things great and happy. Christmas music makes up 80% of Christmas! And I suppose you hate the easter bunny for giving you spots!

*sings* driving home for christmas .. yay

I mean....... mayby it's all an atempt by the dark one to create an apocalypse at the time of christs birth. I sure as hell feel like murder after a whole month of it.
It's like the old metal bands putting backwards messages on records. If they really wanted people to kill their parents / teachers etc. the backwards messages should've been christmas songs.

Oh ye think ye are bad, I loved christmas music too, that is until i took a christmas job in Pound city over my christmas break, The same 'christmas Now' cd over and over and over and over, they played it nearly ten times a day.
I went in there this year adn they were playing it, I had to walk out.
God help those slade boys if i ever catch them.

    gogo:cool:

    the power of love.....

i have been known to break into random acts of mindless violence after hearing this eight times in two hours...whoever was responsible should have been dealt with before they unleashed this on the world

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,484 ✭✭✭✭Stephen

Not all christmas music is bad, just most of it :D

Shíte like Slade and Wizzard should be burned in a very big fire, but other stiff like Chris Rea's "Driving Home For Christmas" and the Pogues/Kirsty McCall's "Fairytale of New York" aren't that bad at all.

    Weh.

I do remember though when i was working in Dunnes Stores back when i was 16. They had a 2 hour loop of excruciatingly bad christmas songs playing every day for about a month and a half. That nearly drove me to violence

The first one I'll give you, but the second? That's going too far.

I can't possibly imagine what exposure to Dunnes stortes Christmas music must have on the nerves after prolonged exposure. I'm getting angry even thinking about.
Yes. Issues. Great big undefeatable, random killing spree type issues. Watch out it might be you.
    BAH FU**ING HUMBUG.

Think of the poor saps who work in retail and have no choice but to listen to the same 10 or 12 Christmas themed songs day in and day out for 6 weeks. I'd be phoning in sick....or "going postal"

Oops thats basicly what Graemo just said, y'see having heard
"Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas" 8 times today I'm addled! :p

    Mike.
