Has anybody in rural Co. Carlow had issues with planning permission for wooden cabins or prefabs of any kind? I can't seem to find any documents online outlining exactly what is permitted and what isn't.

There was something on last week's Nationalist (I think) about someone who had structures in their garden that were too big.

It's a joke, you can build a garish three storey hacienda with Roman columns etc, but you can't put up a log cabin because 'it doesn't suit the area'.

That'll never pass and if it does it wont be long before it's rescinded. No thought but into drainage run off and complaints from neighbours arguing their right to light will be endless.

I wouldn't fancy working in the complaints dept. Ridiculous decision imo.
