Bringing dog to France

    Hi guys, I am leaving for France at the end of May and I'm bringing my jack russell who is 8 years old. She is microchipped, has a pet passport, and got a rabies vaccination last month.

    Is there anything else necessary, does anyone know?
    Upon speaking to a vet, she said that the dog would need her booster vaccinations up to date but yet I see no mention of that anywhere else.

    Am I good to go?

    Any help would be great - I'm really stressing!

    Yes, the vaccinations must be up to date...not expired. It shows the renewal dates on the pet passport.

    The rules for bringing your pet back to Ireland are stricter as you must also do a tapeworm treatment certified by a vet who will enter it in the pet passport. This must be done between 1 and 5 days of your arrival back in Ireland.

    Once you comply with the rules for reentry to Ireland you are definitely covered for entry to France.

    No, vaccinations apart from rabies aren't legally needed.
