Identifiy this series.

Does anyone remember this series that rte put on in the mid 80s?It was a series of half hour drama episodes with a supernatural theme.Of the two i saw one was about this Barry Macguigan lookalike who kept having flashbacks to his childhood as a young gurrier on the streets of Dublin and ends with him in a room with sort of ghosts or something bursting through the walls.The other was about an Irish family in Spain and was set in the 50s or 60s,cant remember too much else about it.Did anyone else see it or did i imagine it?

Someone must remember it as Irish made drama series were so rare then.It was probably a collaboration between RTE and a foregin channel as it had fairly high production values.

Sorry for resurecting a zombie thread but just on the off chance that this jogs some memories heres some more details that I remember about the former episode.The main character with the Barry Mcguigan tash was a drummer in a band and there was a scene where they're playing in a bar when his drunken father who's just got out of jail comes in and mockingly applauds him.There's a row and tash lad throws a drum cymbal at his old man.Later he meets his girlfriend and tells her that he's joining the army to which she tells him he'll be sent to Lebanon to "be done".He also has this scummy friend and the three of them I think steal a car.Then the girlfriend is alone with the scummy friend and there's one piece of dialogue that sticks in my mind,she says to him "I don't mind if you rape me".Also I think the kid who played yer mans younger self in the flashback sequences was the same young lad who was in the Film Lamb.

Even if you don't find it you'd get a job no probs as a scriptwriter...:D, I'm racking my brains on this but I can't remember it, sounds like it might be good as a re-run though.

Long buried memory just popped into my head.I think the word "Summer"was in the title of the series.It would have been on in either 86 or 87.Very strange that nobody else remembers it as RTE gave it a fair bit of publicity at the time.
Edit:I did a bit of googling and it turns out I was confusing it with Summer Lightining,a totally different series shown on RTE in the 80's.

I have a vague memory of a supernatural series on RTE as a co -production with Channel 4.

I thought it was called "When reason sleeps" but searching on google doesn't throw up a match.
