Years ago, before the RC records were digitised, I used Rootsireland to find various Limerick baptisms in the 1820-1860s period. No godparents recorded in the transcriptions.

Today I had cause to look at some original images relating to that family. Discovered that lazy Rootsireland Limerick people just didn't bother transcribing them, but they're all there.

That's an evening's work to go back through them all and take in the extra details, but on the upside, maybe there'll be enough to go on to push back a further generation.
