Tisell Bauhaus 38mm

    Thinking of purchasing the Tisell Bauhaus 38mm

    Have been an admirer of Stowa watches for a long time but they are well outside my budget for a watch.

    €300 is prob top of my budget and from what I see online the Tisell seems to be a good option to get the Bauhaus style with a relatively good quality movement and watch for the price.

    Am also thinking maybe a blue Nato strap for more casual look ?

    Just want to see what people here think of the watch and is it a good option ?

    That is a 900 euro Stowa for 500. You won’t loss a penny if you decide to sell. And it will be far higher quality.

    You pay 300 for that tissel you won’t be able to sell it for 100.

    At 300 that one is far more expensive than 500 for the Stowa.

    Thats just a Nomos rip off. For 4 or 500 you'd get a used Junghans Max Bill which is probably the most iconic Bauhaus watch. I have a Nomos but I think the Junghans is a nicer watch being honest even if it isn't "as good". 893s link isn't working for me, but if you can get a Nomos for 500 bucks I'd bite their hand off.

    I wouldn't, it'll have zero resale value as 893 said. It'll always be a Korean homage of the watch you really want. If you want genuine bauhaus styling from a brand with a bit of history, have a look at Junghans. It'd be in or around your budget for one of their Form series. I love the dial detail on the chrono:

    EDIT: It's obviously a quartz at this price point but that wouldn't put me off personally

    Thanks for the plug! There is literally no comparison between that Tisell and the Stowa I'm selling for a small bump on your budget (selling to fund another Stowa)

    Another handwinder with small seconds all going to plan!

    I have spent too many evenings lusting over that Nomos! It's the Ref 167? Honestly such a beautiful watch and a great value proposition new. Rarer than hens teeth on the used market.

    Very dainty at <7mm. The silver dials never did a huge amount for me in the Antea/Tangente styling but that midnight blue oozes class.

    Ah the small seconds complication (just trolling wibbs!).

    That’s the 167. A tiny bit small at 37.5mm but will wear a tad bigger. Think it could be perfect for my current tastes.

    Hi guys thanks for all the replies. I suppose a bit of background I am not a watch collector or anything like that. I would be getting the watch to wear every day I won't have a selection to pick from or anything :-)

    So resale value is not a concern for me realky. I will be keeping it. Only way it will go is if I loose it 🙈

    That Stowa for €500 is class but it's not the style I'm looking for unfortunately. I like the more minimalist look.

    I did look at the Sternglas watch actually, what's your opinion of them ?

    And for me I don't know why but I want the mechanical movement rather than a quartz, I just like the mechanical movement for some reason.

    With that said what would your advice be ?

    And for a budget way below the 300 euro Tisell - I would recommend the Sea-Gull - around 100 euro and you have a choice between <9mm (without rotor) and no logo with rotor (and sapphire crystal) 9.5mm watch:

    Lusted after that watch for ages, then I got to hold it. Discounted immediately owing to legibility and this was before my sight started going to ****e. I find all of their (club excluded) blue dials really hard work on the eyesight.

    So I kind of went against the advice from most here and went ahead and bought the Tisell Bauhaus.

    I have it a few weeks now and I love it, wearing it every day.

    It had nearly everything I wanted. Heat blued hands, decent automatic movement, sapphire crystal glass on the front, glass case back (this is mineral glass I think), the Bauhaus style I wanted, supplied on a canvas strap and within my budget.

    The European supplier were great to deal with and shipping was very fast and it was well packaged

    I can see why it may not suite some of you, but for what I wanted it is ideal :-)

    A watch is personal to the wearer - so above all you have to like it :) - great to get a perspective of a Tisell buyer too.
