Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Perhaps he would have, after all it's not too long ago that Ronaldo was bellowing down the microphone after receiving an individual award.

However that isn't Messi, that isn't his style, that is not who he is. A shy, retreating smile, a laugh and he takes the trophy and leaves, that's Messi, he lets his actions on the pitch do the talking.

A bit like his approach to taxes. :pac:

United get another tricky draw, but they should have enough.

Another? When was the last one?

Haters clearly ready to hate on here but I don't care at all, it's Messi's second UEFA Best Player in Europe Award, he's almost certainly on course to win another Balon D'or, and more important than any of the individual awards, he's the main man in a team that has just won the treble and who could even repeat that again this season. Throw whatever dirt you want at him, he's the greatest footballer ever and he's in his pomp and in 20, 30, 40 years time it is Messi that kids will be asking you about and nobody else.

It was a joke - Lighten up. I'd be the first to admit that he fully deserves his award, he had a phenomenal season. End of.

Where Messi is concerned I do not joke.

Interesting to note that this was the number breakdown of the votes for the award. Out of the 54 votes cast, Messi received 49 (highest ever), Suarez received 3 and Ronaldo 2 (lowest ever).

That haters gunna hate **** is from some of that Kardashian lot or some other ghastly American airhead. Always hard to take anyone serious when they peddle that out.

Sure it's an irritating cliche but it tends to ring through around here the moment you mention Messi.

Apologies if it's been asked before, will sky 1 be showing any CL games this season?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Crackle

No, BT Sport got the exclusive rights. TV3 and RTE will still be showing games here.

I don't have BT. Do they have a red button feature where you can watch 7 matches, or are the viewers in UK and Ireland basically losing 4 live matches a night?

Red button to view the matches. Same set up as Sky last few years

    How much is BT ?

Manchester City V Juventus is my choice tonight anyway. Could be a very good game if Juventus can actually get their act together.

I think the pressure is more on the home side given their previous showings in the Champions League. Couple that with how much money they've spent during the summer, they'll really want to deliver.

TV3 showing the united match, time to find a stream I suppose for city v juve.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,611 ✭✭✭The Golden Miller

Galatasaray v Atletico should be good. You'd expect Galatasary to be attacking from the start. Wolfsburg v CSKA is a hard one to call. CSKA are on fire lately, and Wolfsburg aren't playing great but are at home. Looking forward to seeing the King of Rome grace the field tomorrow night

Luke Shaw will be out for a while. Stretchered off after his standing leg got caught in a tackle

Do the 'new' rules not apply to Europe as well?

Looked like Morata stretched for the ball, bad miss from Bony M.

Morata was offside. Don't recall him going for the ball. If he did, it should have been called offside. Pogba was certainly on.

Bony is so wasteful. Only a matter of time before De Bruyne comes on. They're missing something.

  • Registered Users Posts: 568 ✭✭✭Tomagotchye

Bony's finishing at Swansea was great...what happened?

Man City must start to think about bringing Aguero on now.

Silva has been disappointing tonight. Obviously not 100% fit. I'd take the point now and move on to the next game.
