Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anyone suggest any documentaries or links that gives a basic synopsis of the Roman Empire (Rise, significance, fall etc). Just discovered its importance and would be really interesting in dwelling further into it.

The Roman Empire having spanned several centuries is a large topic. It spans cultures, peoples, art and architecture. In a book, I'd recommend is "The Roman Empire: A Very Short Introduction by Kelly"as an initial starting point. There are then dozens of excellent books, one I'd start with to put the classical world in context is 'The Classical World by Fox'

I'm really only dipping myself into this topic so I would never have read a book in this context before. The only books I read are sports autobiographys, would you still recommend these books.
