Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So i started new job a fortnight ago thursday(sep 3)and on sameday( or 1+2 days) i requested my JB claim to be closed. I also informed revenue of new job.

I retrieved confirmation from mywelfare of closing claim request on the 6th. I received full JB on the 9th(wed). Not sure if this proper or not , never been on JB.

Now today (15th) i received a letter from intreo saying that the revenue commision informed them that i am working/have worked/receive a pension from an employer. Now i have ask my employer to fill out a piece of paper(i hate these type of things...)

It says I must do this even if i advised the department about this employment otherwise my payment/claim will be stopped...(like i care i am working)

Is the JB on the 9th a mistake? should have received it ?

    Now if i get JB tomorrow(wednesday 16th) then its 100% a discrepancy.

    Any thoughts?

Buts Its ****ing Bull**** i have to do this , when i did everything i supposed to do.

If you were on JB you shouldn't have received the full JB payment on the 9th. If you started work Thursday and only requested to close Monday the payment may have already been processed so it might have been too late to stop it or your request may not have been actioned in time to close your claim before the payment ran due to backlogs/volume of work that staff in your local office will be processing.

The Commencement of Employment letter you received is sent out for every customer on Social Welfare payments once your employment is registered with Revenue and you have an open claim.

Your employer has probably filled these out before so shouldn't be a problem. An overpayment may be assessed from the week you started work.

Depending on how much it may be a case of them deducting if your unemployed again. Otherwise just agree an amount to repay each week
