    Where do I find a tax reference number for a newly registered business?

    The simplest way is to see some official documentation from the business such as an invoice or a till receipt which should have the VAT number on. The VAT number is normally the tax reference. You can then input the VAT number into the EU validation site to verify it's legitimacy.
