Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ursids Meteor shower 22nd/23rd December

    Ursids meteor shower should peak tonight into the wee hours of the tomorrow morning. Radiating from the little dipper in the northern skies. Can reach rates of 10 per hour but are generally feint. If the skies clear viewing conditions should be good as there's a waning crescent moon @ 6% of full. New moon on the 24th.

    haha 10 meteors per hour!?!... Surely that cannot be defined as a meteor shower then?

    Anyways... im sure ill look up at some stage if the sky is clear!

    Saw about 10 over 2 days for the Geminids

    true true ,id see one or 2 though.

    Wish we where in the southern hemisphere though to see this! :(

    Better chance of seeing it the further south in the northern hemisphere I'm afraid. So might suit the Cork contingent better!

    Anyway looking forward to your video compilation of auroras from your Sweden trip Ian! Hopefully the sun will wake up properly for you.

    I think the average is 3-4 an hour, but random, so I suppose 10 more/hr from the same point in the sky, would be a meteor shower.

    Any luck seeing them?
