    I'm looking at a planning document and would like some help understanding or interpreting the acronyms used.

    I am thinking "F W Sewer" refers to "Foul Water Sewer" as in toilet and kitchen drains.

    and..

    "S W Sewer" refers to "Surface Water" / rain water drains.

    Can anyone confirm this or explain better what they mean or if I am on the right track?

    The map is dated 03/96

    I think you are correct in your reading.

    FW = foul water.

    SW = storm water.

    You are correct.

    However bear in mind that if you are reading these from a planning document the relationship between what's on the ground and what's on the page could be tenuous at best!
