Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fridge Problem

    Howeya lads.

Got an issue with my fridge that I'm hoping someone can advise on. Basicallythe compressor on the fridge isn't always kicking in when it should. Now when it does work it cools just fine so I'm thinking the compressor itself is ok. Similarly when it reaches correct temp it shuts off so it's probably not the stat either? When thus happens I repeatedly turn the control unit (dial from 0 - 5) and the compressor will eventually kick in then operate fine. I'm thinking there's a problem with the control unit or some interior 'switch' where the compressor is not kicking in. I need to get someone to look at it obviously but am wondering can anyone give me a rough estimate to fix this or tell me if I'm better off replacing the fridge. It's an 8 year old Indesit BTW.

    Many thanks!

Is there not a high and low limit stat on fridges. Sounds like it's not getting a signal from high temp.

I would replace the stat. Because it cuts off at the correct low temperature does not necessarily mean it will switch on when temperature rises.

    Thanks lads.

I thought if the stat was gone it would continuously cool or not kick in at all.

Now to find someone to do it.......
