Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A bit dirty by Ryanair

So we had flights cancelled last year & took the voucher option as we knew we use it, about €700 euro or so, anyway rebooked for June 2021 using the voucher & added about €60

Our June 2021 outbound flight was cancelled, they sent an email offering refund, submitted that & now are only offering a refund of the extra €60, the voucher value of €700 has disappeared into the ether, think that’s a bit dirty

Talk to them on twitter. Someone needs to reactivate the voucher.

That happened to me when I took a voucher for a cancellation & used that voucher with a small extra payment for another booking. When that second flight was cancelled I got the extra bit back initially but then got a replacement voucher for the original voucher amount which I rejected since there was no likelihood of travel anytime soon and got the cash refund for that entire portion also. So contact them. It's not lost.

Also when using voucher and replacement flights cancelled and another voucher issued I had to go back to the original booking ref and that voucher number for the cash refund to work. It wouldn't work on the replacement voucher ref.

Cheers, I have the original voucher numbers used, they’ve only cancelled the outbound flight as yet, I expect the inbound flight to be cancelled in the next week or so , maybe I’ll wait until that happens & go from there

It may be a bit long of a story to deal with via Twitter,

I used facebook messanger successfully to deal with issues . So that my be another way to sort it out.

It's probably just a system issue.
Contact them and they'll sort it out.

My recent flight with ryanair was pleasant.. My checked bag was 2kg over and the girl at the desk said it didn't matter.

Just to update this, received another email from Ryanair this morning stating that “ As you fully or partially paid for your booking with a voucher, this voucher is available to use again. Please see below your voucher details.

    So all good

Glad to see that the Op got sorted. May I ask when in June the flight got cancelled and if it was out of Dublin? I want to book a flight in June using the vouchers, but I'm really wary of cancellations. Are they very common?

June 8th out of Dublin, cancelled May 14th, I don’t know how common the cancellations are but at least if your flight is cancelled, your voucher will be valid for future use so no financial loss to you as regards the flights, accommodation may be a different story, depends on T&C’s

Thanks Op for the reply and the info. At least you got plenty of notice, more than 3 weeks. I'd be afraid of a last minute cancellation. At least with good advance notice you can go back to the drawing board.

In fairness to Ryanair, from memory I’m pretty sure we got at least a months notice when our 2020 flights were cancelled, there is some breaking news this evening as regards EU travel you should check out & a government announcement on travel coming next week

I don’t know your destination but if you check the Dublin airport departures daily you can see what flights are going, may help your decision making

There are €5 flights being sold today on Ryanair from Dublin, Cork and Shannon in June. I wonder are they worth gambling on? Very tempting.
