What do you recall from 1970 - fifty years ago? Personal or political memories, does anything stand out from half a century ago? It was quite a busy year for me, the year my first child was born, leaving Zambia where I had been working and bringing my husband to meet my family for the first time. I was 7 months pregnant…

Cuba was the only country, that people wanted to leave, that had a first port of entry in Ireland. So for a long time, that was the only source of refugees in Ireland.
