MCSE+Internet on NT4 (IIS 3.0 and Proxy server 1.0 are the +internet bit :pac:)
MCSE+Messaging on Windows 2003 + Exchange 2003

CSTP

Currently working towards a MSc in Computer Security and Forensics

Also considering the CEH and CISSP exams, anyone any experience with either?

Currently enrolled CCNA have one more year left till my final "phase" if you like 1 & 2 went well, 3 & 4 next year.

* With good hands on training.

Also add quite alot of stuff on the CCNA netacad curriculum.

Not for the faint hearted class start the year with 22 people, down to around 9 now :eek:

Oh I see you meant what were they like?

The 2008s were extremely easy as I work very closely with all the functions. There were your usual stupid "Microsoft Answers" that were vague but annoyingly exact at the same time.

Windows 7 though took a lot more study as while I use it at home and at my desk at work, I really didnt have too much experience with it in a corporate sense as we still use xp. However once you got past the addtional extras that it comes with, then XP experience kicks in for the rest.

The windows 7 exam isn't very challenging at all.
I didn't study for this one, just took it and passed.

I'm sure the Server exams are more difficult though.

Passed the MCSE upgrade exams (70-647 and 70-649) recently. Tricky enough and don't think I'd have passed without studying. Used the MS Press books and there's lots of free content online of course. Microsoft had an exam cram which was useful.

Your post history implies you passed A+ two years ago. :rolleyes:

What's the HP cert path like? Since I was just offered a new contract there, it looks like I'll have to head down that route at some stage.

Apologies on that one. A+ & N+ were passed in 2010.

I'm not sure as I don't have much interest in windows, in terms of studying, so I haven't looked into it. I'm trying to brush this one off. I'd prefer Cisco or Linux. The only problem is exposure is nonexistent with my company. It's all Windows based and the odd Cisco staging/pre-staging.

2009 : Coast...

2010 : Coast...

2011 : Coast...

2012: Never needed to study in the last couple of places, just sort of picked it up as I went along, but I'm in a new role and looking to stay on for a good while, so I'm starting into the 70-280, 70-285 & 70-286 windows exams. Then the 4 or so server 2008 exams after that hopefully. And maybe Linux+ along the way as I'm starting to work with CentOS a good bit now. Busy year ahead

Seems like Ive been coasting when it comes to IT for the last few years. Now its time to start to study.
Goals for this year are:
Citrix XenApp 6 - Company are using Citrix and I did the course last year.

Unsure whether to go down the MCITP route or CCNA route after that.

Passed 70-450 (SQL) on Saturday.

What was more stressful was the 45 minute wait for the exam to start. Other exam sitters and myself were told that Prometric were having "global IT issues" and Twitter seems to have confirmed this. No news on Prometric web site on this of course. Then again, they have a monopoly so why should they care.

70-270 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional
70-680 TS: Windows 7, Configuring
ITIL v3 Foundation

I've become very lazy, only have one exam left to get MCSA (that one exam being "the beast")and haven't done anything about it in the last year. I want to get it before the exam is retired even though it's going to be a legacy certification soon.

After that's done will move onto VCP.

Hard to find the time to do all this with work.

iv also had my eye on an Apple technicians course.

I find it hard when i dont work in this area to keep me up to speed with stuff and i cant get a job without 3 years experience

Iv been looking for Comp Sci courses but cant find any in waterford, travelling not an option.

Any ideas on what courses would help me get a job quicker without all the experience needed?

Just passed CCNA yesterday. Took a long time on one of the SIMs and ended up having to fly through the second half of the exam.
So I have MCSA 2003 in messaging and CCNA now.
Missed out on my chance for the 2003 to 2008 upgrade exam, as they phased it out a few months ago (boo). I failed it twice but didn't prepare well either time. Might just give up on the MS ones now, as I would have to start from scratch with the 2008 ones.

Next up CCNA security, then CCNP Security

Jesus, You lot put me too shame I only have the Comptia N+ ,A+ and half a MCSA(will pass the other part soon enough fingers crossed).How long did it take you too acquire all them certs?Very impressive none the less.

I'm working in tech support the past 6 months and will start looking for a new job around july 2014 when i hopefully have 1 or 2 more certs.Do you think with about 5 certs and over a years experience in tech support id stand a chance getting a level 2 support job or something along them lines??

Have the CCNA, doing CCNA Security to renew CCNA aswell.

How did you find the CCNA security exam and study? Decided to get CCNA sec as it doesn't take long to learn and is suppose to be an "easier" exam to pass
