Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Portsmouth City council has placed plaques on each street in the city with the names and addresses of those that died in WWI. 31st May 1916 obviously figures quite significantly and must have been quite a big blow for a city like Portsmouth.

Yes, it was the day of the Battle of Jutland, the first and last major Naval engagement of WW1. Between the two fleets, British and German, almost 10,000 sailors lost their lives, so yes, I think that you might say it was a big blow for Portsmouth, the major home of the Royal Navy in Southern England.
