Hey, so out of curiosity what are the modern website elements/trends? Any link to examples you think are quite modern and good looking?

    Explain why?

So far I noticed websites that are:
    • Plain/Simple-ish
    • Uses 3/4 colors of same tone (e.g - Very dark but not black, lime, amber, violet, crimson) colors that are not just standart red, blue, green.
    • Has very few buttons.
    • Doesn't have advertisement.
    • Not always has header and footer?

Any other things you can think of?

I think that IGN's redesign is a good example of site up to date with modern trends. (It's also responsively designed)

My favorite site at the moment: http://lefft.com/ -Totally awesome!!

And then of course there's Happy Cog and You Know Who

    Themble is pretty cool too.

I'd say the main website 'trend' (if you could call it that) at the moment is responsive design.

Milwaukee Police Department have a pretty rockin website! :pac:

I think if you're trying to spot the latest trends, you pretty much just need to look at the trendsetters websites, the few I posted above being a good start.

Bit Foundry is another one. They've a pretty awesome responsive site.

Great time for typography too. A few things I've been noticing more are 'Hand-made' text (with the various article headings on Trent Walton's site being a good example).

Websites using using multiple fonts is also something I'm noticing more.
