The information booklet linked in the Ad have unusual titles
"Flood Risk Management (FRM) discharges OPW's responsibility as the Government’s lead agency in co-ordinating flood risk manage"
Maybe bolgert should have changed the title field

30 days holiday... nice. Good pay too. Pity it's in Dublin. Sounds like long hours too though... 43 hours base + expected additional hours. I imagine there's quite a bit of travel involved too around the EU.

Its a civilservice job though so its 43hrs Gross 37.xxx hours worked. Have to imagine it would fall in line with most civil service jobs of that level whereby additional time wouldnt be expected without OT or Time In Lieu.

Sounds like an interesting role . Application form was a pain in the hle to fill in though .

I was applying for the Cyber Security Responders position which said the closing date was the 3rd of March at 3pm and the other one had a closing date of the 2nd but it seems that both are now closed?? I am 100% that was the case as I looked at both of them at the time and noted the closing dates. Here I am filling in the application and about to submit it but can't now.

What are my options now?

I have the job description here and the responder job says 3pm on the 2nd March. PAS won't budge once past the closing date.

I don't know if the posts are specific grades or grade equivalents - maybe it is mentioned in the pdfs.

If the 'Specialists' are at Assistant Principal level then overtime is not usually paid. Also at the moment there is no flexitime option but that may change. Standard working week in the Civil Service is 09.00 to 17.45 Monday to Thursday (17.15 on Friday) but some areas would not be rigid about the times so long as the hours are worked.

If the 'Responders' are HEO grade or equivalent they would qualify for overtime and possibly flexitime.

It doesn't specify grade , but says it's an "established post " . Salary scale for responder is 58-68 k which is closer to Ap than heo. Also read it again and it specifies no OT.

I believe that the grade equivalent is 4*HEO/2*AP in the InfoSec roles. PO for the ODCE.

It'll be very interesting to see who gets the ODCE role - I'm guessing it's already been given the nod internal and this is just a process. The Dept of Comms roles I believe are looking at CV's around now, and feedback due early in May.

Its with Department of Communications, Climate Action, Cyber Security Specialist (Compliance). Salary 70-85k

I would have applied had I seen it, not sure how I missed it... Oh well...

I've an MSc in Digital Investigation & Forensic Computing, and I'm currently doing a Specialist Diploma in Information & Network Security. I need to get some certifications too I suppose.

I literally just lol'd at that and spat out my coffee. Definitely not new.

In fact, these offices haven't been renovated since they opened in the early 1980s. They're near the top of OPWs list for complete gutting and recommissioning.

I don't know anything specific about the Dept's plans, but 15-20 AP-level staff would be a very, very substantial section. I think that's unlikely tbh.

I have no idea if that's how many it would be. It has nothing to do with my own section, the rest of the building is occupied by people in a completely unrelated field.

I'm just guesstimating based on the office foot print but I have no idea how many actual desks are going in.

Just finished Metasploit exercise - it took a while to figure everything out, but I used EternalBlue against 2008 R2... How're you getting on?
