Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey Google, sync my devices

    Thanks!

    Hey Google, sync my devices

Doesn't seem to work great. Just combined lights in open plan room from being linked to 2 rooms now on one. But after synching it is still working off the old settings.

I ended up deleting the room in Home, it released the lights, added them to kitchen. Synching devices doesn't seem to work too well, maybe because I was messing about a bit, adding room, then deleting it.

Sync devices doesn't seem to work anymore on Hue for me. Always gives me an error saying, the account holder will need to sync Philips Hue.

For any new bulbs I have to resync the Philips Hue from within the Home App. Then kill the Home App, reopen and new bulbs should have appeared. The Rooms I have set up in Hue differ from on Google so I always have to move the bulbs to the correct rooms and then delete the rooms that were created from Hue.

Hi. This has probably been asked loads of times but I have gone through countless pages and cannot find the answer. Does the Google home mini support outgoing calls yet? If no has any indication been given as to when this might happen? Thank you.

My Mini has been fairly patchy this past while, re connectivity and such.

    Sorry, something went wrong.
    Please sign into your account.
    There was a glitch.
    etc, etc.

Playing BBC 5 Live isn't working well at all. It'll play about 30 seconds and then dead air. And it's generally slow to verbally respond to those requests too.

My internet was slow last week, but I changed the channel on the router and that fixed the slowness on my PC and Youtube, etc. I'm not sure if the above issues are due to wifi or the device itself.

I think there was an add this morning. I just assumed it was an add on the radio.

I never had ad's before the requested station would just play straight away. Now I get 30 seconds of this rubbish every time I stream something.

Those are TuneIn ads. Nothing you can do about them.

    Do you have TuneIn Premium?

Nope but the tune android app has had audio ads for the past few weeks. High time Google took the stream directly from RTE like the do with BBC (no I don't mean they take the BBC stream from RTE!)

Does anyone know do I need to do anything special to get Routines functionality to show up in the Google Home app?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 666 ✭✭✭Fishy1

NewsTalk Radio hasn’t been available on either my Google Home or Google Mini for the past few days.
Is it just me? At least RTE Radio 1 hasn’t been affected this time. Hope I haven’t jinxed it now!

Newstalk has been working perfectly on my mini the last while. It was in this morning before I left for work

Just tried it again there now & got it to work by saying “Play NewsTalk”. Up to this I used to always have to say “Play Newstalk Radio” :o

If the station is using something like AdSwizz, the direct stream can still have ad insertion.

Interesting “Play Newstalk Radio” worked for me this morning

On an unrelated note my mini decided to set off an alarm at 4am this morning, is there any way to determine what action/command was used to create this alarm? Neither myself or the missus think that we actually set it

""Set media/music/radio for 7am every day of the week”"
    https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/7071598?hl=en-GB

Although there doesn't seem to be any way to set the "On" volume yet

Can't speak to the other two, but Spotify works flawlessly for me.

As far as I know that functionality doesn't work in Ireland

It doesn't seem to work alright. You can only make video calls through Duo (but who the hell even uses duo).

I've pushed a good few people to use it now. I find the audio calls on it much better quality than WhatsApp too.

I find if I ask to play a specific song, it will invariably play a live version or a cover by some degenerate. Just play the original song by the original artist.

Not setup for your country...Why have others setup the device to another country? wouldn't that give all wrong data about weather conditions, time etc?

I switch between UK & US. Think it's on UK at the moment, makes no difference for weather etc. as that's based on my address.

So is it just language you need to change to UK/US to avail of these features? And can leave address alone for weather, drive to work etc?

Their policy of not releasing certain features for other English-speaking countries, such as Ireland or Australia, but only to the UK and, even more so, the US is utterly idiotic. Why we can't have continuous conversation like the US makes no sense.
