I'm planning on finishing a shed/garden room with timber cladding.

I was going to use untreated Siberian larch in a vertical double-bevel rainscreen profile, but that ages to a silver grey and since the building looks bigger than I imagined it would I'd like to use something darker to make it blend in a bit under the trees.

I considered torching it, but from what I've read it needs to be deeply blackened in order to provide any kind of longevity, and I don't want it to be completely black.

I don't mind a bit of maintenance, but I would like it to degrade gracefully over time.

So how do I best achieve something like this? Not necessarily that exact finish but those kind of natural looking dark tones.
