Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ireland is on track to fail to meet its EU emissions targets and involve the country in the payment of massive fines. This all according to the Government's own think tank - here's the 2017 Review: http://www.climatecouncil.ie/media/ClimateChangeAdvCouncil_AnnualReview2017FINAL.pdf

The Climate Change Advisory Council advocates spending more money on public transport and less on roads - fat chance. What are CIE doing to push the boundaries of innovation and the development of new technology - battery powered trains etc.. don't all rush in with your answers.

Av and Ax buses need to go. Currently the AV is being sold off.
Being replaced by SG buses which have very low emissions.

whatever criticism you might have about irish rail - i suspect they have a miniscule R&D budget, and can't afford to experiment.

Obviously beyond Irish Rail, IDA or any government body to 'think outside the box' as they love to crap on about, but to an ordinary joe soap like me this seems like something that Ireland with its 'green' image could really get on board with.

You could double Irish Rail's passenger numbers and it would make little enough impact on Irish emissions.

Getting rid of a few hundred thousand cows, on the other hand..................

That's true of course and sure Ireland's so small it doesn't really matter what we do and we might as well not bother.
