Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah that's actually where I have ordered it from and am waiting still 10 days after despatch date and no sign of them actually delivering it!!

You couldn't make this stuff up!

My apologies.. I didn't read your message properly! Well, I can only say that I've never had a bad experience with EG bar having to wait for about a week or two. It's coming from Hong Kong remember.

My father in law ordered one from Amazon last week and had it within a few days. Price dropped just after he recieved it.
He loves it, took me about 15mins to switch off all the advertising and the photo watermark.
    It's a cracking phone.
I have held off getting it, will wait till Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

phones from china are cheap when they come out for first
2 months then prices go up by 100 euro

so it can be cheaper to buy a 5g phone than 4g

but make sure it has global software and check what 4g and 5g bands it has

€234 plus shipping from Amazon Spain for the 6/128 GB version.

I have a Pocophone F1, which is just coming up to two years old which I'd been thinking of replacing. I had been thinking of holding off for a 5G handset, but the added cost to the handsets was putting me off. That, and the takeup of 5G here isn't great. And my network (gomo) doesn't officially support it!

I've ordered it from Spain to Parcel Motel (went for the 128 GB) version, so hopefully it won't be long before I have it.

Is AliExpress reliable to buy a phone from?

In the 4 weeks I have had this phone it has gotten 3 system updates. Nice to see Xiaomi is fixing all the bugs very quickly.

Stereosound have you had any issues with the phone overheating at all?

I've seen a few mentions online about that, and as I'm STILL WAITING for the phone I do have a chance to buy something else but I do really want it!

    Thanks

Edit: Just seen that my phone has actually been handed over to the courier in the Netherlands.
I may actually get it......I can hardly believe it.......

Aliexpress is a portal for a shops. Look at the sellers feedback. If buying a phone from there, id look for 4.5%+ rating

I recently ordered a Realme 6 from Amazon Italy. It hasn't arrived yet but just today I see the Poco X3 NFC 6/128 GB version for £203 on Amazon UK. This was the phone I was hoping to get but was too expensive at the time. The Realme 6 hasn't arrived yet and I was thinking I might order the Poco today and return the Realme for a refund as soon as it arrives. Has anyone here had any experience of returning a phone to Amazon Italy? Is it worth the hassle? From all reviews I've seen, the Poco X3 seems to be a brilliant phone and would be a massive bargain at that price

With the screen on 120hz and doing some intensive tasks I did notice the phone heating up and throttling. I have always kept it on 60hz since then without any such issues. Maybe this has been fixed on recent system updates I don't know. I always keep 120hz off as I think it's not necessary and maybe abit gimmick. Supposedly it effects battery life to.

So finally got the phone 3 weeks (!!!) after having ordered it (from EGlobal Central) and boy it is fantastic on first look and set up was really easy.
Screen is really big but it doesn't feel too big and is lovely to use.

I have removed all the ads from it and unticked every box which says "send recommendations" it's well worth doing this but as far as I know when you install any new app it shows you an ad halfway through......

BUT it is an amazing bit of kit for €240 - I got the 128gb version.

Have reduced the screen refresh rate to 60hz to save battery life and stop any potential overheating.

Soo all in all very pleased with phone - will never order from E Global again - too long and stressful wondering if it will ever arrive.

Is anyone having problems with missing calls, started using the dual SIM function last week, SIM 1 for data and SIM 2 for calls but people have been telling me they were ringing me and either getting my message minder or a dialing tone but I'm not hearing it?
    Very strange.
Had to put my SIM for calls back on to my other phone.

My Google pay was working this morning then later when I went to pay a notification came up to say Google Pay wasnt supported. I left it and paid with my bank card.
Did a reboot and tried it again a while ago and it got the tick mark on the screen to say accepted but the terminal said 'No!' Checked my revolut acc there and then and plenty in it.
    Whats going on?

I just pulled the trigger on it now. Apparently it will be here on Wednesday. I'll be over the moon if that's the case.
I saw it at the lower price a few weeks ago, so thought that maybe it would drop slightly on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but no such luck.

Bought the Poco X3 a few weeks ago, but it doesn't/won't connect to my smartwatch.
The smartwatch is a Honor Magic and I've downloaded the Huawei Health App but the app doesn't recognise the watch.
The watch still works through the my old phone Mi A2 lite and connects to the Huawei health app on it, I'm thinking the issue is with the Poco.

    Any ideas anyone??

BTW the Poco is a great phone...

I had similar issues with my Poco X3 and my Garmin Vivoactive 4....i eventually fixed it, it was some settings in the notification settings (smart notifications) and settings buried in the Garmin Connect App.

Vivoactive 3... Same. It told me I had to reallow permissions. Went into the settings it directed me to and it was already ticked. So I just unchecked and checked again. Works grand now

    Thanks .
Went into notification's and allowed permissions, also cleared cache and reset watch and got connected.
Thought I had already done this.....
Not sure which action worked or it was a combination of actions

    Thanks again

I am having issues with my Galaxy Smartwatch too. Have to go into the Wear app every day to reconnect to phone and even then I don't always get message notifications. Very frustrating.

Aside from that I am happy with the phone

-Smarts Home Connection - Heating Controls etc
    Android Auto

What are people's opinions of this? I'm deciding between the POCO X3 and the Mi 10T Lite which is a bit more expensive but i'm not sure it's worth it...

No problems at all I'm using a smart heating control app (Netamo) which just copied over from my previous phone.
I cast from YouTube to our TV regularly and no issues.
I don't know what Android Auto is, sorry!

it depends on what you're using it for I guess.
I'm really happy with this POCO X3 phone it's super intuitive and has options for almost everything I can think of.
Camera is superb - so many options to choose from
Audio is amazing - I'm in a choir and so regularly play music from Dropbox and even those MP3 files sound good!
The speakers on the phone are great one at either end of the phone makes the sound almost a stereo experience.
I don't game at all so can't speak about that but I do keep the recycle rate at 60 rather than 120 to preserve battery.

Battery is the HIGHLIGHT! I'm not a heavy user (email, whatsapp, music) so easily get 1.5 to 2 days out of one charge.

Really enjoying it. Plus the bigger screen is great although if you're scrolling for a long time it can feel heavy after an hour cos it's bigger.
I have found no downsides yet after almost a month of using.

One thing if you're looking for a flip/wallet style case for it these are almost impossible to get in real leather. I'm probably only talking to 2 people, but anyway just thought I'd let yez know!

In the same position... And having looked at reviews people seem to think the camera on POCO is better than the 10T so I'm swaying towards the POCO at the moment.

This is available for 189 pounds sterling for the 6/128 version on the mi.co.uk site but you can't seem to input an Irish address. Is it exclusive to UK customers does anyone know?

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭N.96

Yes but I believe Parcel Motel would do the trick, i've decided to go with the Poco and am just ordering using Parcel Motel!

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭N.96

Also just a note if you are ordering you should add in a charging cable or something cheap to bring it over the 200 GBP mark and then you get 20 GBP off (rather than the 10 GBP you get without).

For about a week now I'm not getting any mobile data on my phone, I got in touch with 48 and they said it might be an issue with the sim but more than likely it's the phone. I tried a spare 48 sim in the phone and again no data, but calls and texts are working fine.
Has this been happening to anyone else lately or would anyone know how to solve this problem please?

Have you checked the APN settings are there and are enabled? Could you get a lend of a sim from another network to try in the phone? If all else fails and to rule it out being a software issue you could do a full backup and reset the phone. It could take an hour but it would rule out a lot.

Also have you tried either of the 48 sims in another phone?

Hi there, I had this problem on my old MiA1 when I first signed up to 48 and last week when I had to do a reset on bluetooth and network settings on the same phone. The first time it happened I got through to a very helpful webchat assistant who talked me through the steps I needed to take to set up the APN (I think) in the phone. Once I followed the instructions correctly I had the data up and running.

    Last week I looked up the website and there's a section in support that deals with this problem. It has the same details that were explained to me in the webchat previously. This is the link to the page;

    https://community.48.ie/t5/The-Knowledgebase/Data-APN-Settings-i-e-Internet-amp-MMS-Settings/ta-p/53106

I hope this works for you. Other than this problem, how are you finding the Poco? That old A1 of mine is beginning to creak at the seams after over three years hardship and I was thinking of going to the Poco or maybe the Redmi Note 9t or one of the Realme phones of similar price.

I'm really happy with my 128gb X3 - great battery life, very fast charging and lots of great features as well as the dual SIM and big screen.
Do make sure to remove all the ads though if you get it, definitely worthwhile!
I think it's a bargain for the price I paid!

Thanks for that. It's available on amazon.de at the moment for something just under €220 delivered. Seems like good value.

I've had this phone now for about a week and love it - replacing the Xiaomi Note 5. Very fast and not too heavy. Using it with the included Silicon case which makes it very comfortable. Camera is excellent and gaming very smooth. Battery life is massive, I get about 2 days with moderate use (browsing discord. Some gaming). Fast charging. MIUI 12 is an improvement over 11. Took a bit to fine tune battery settings for the various apps. Overall an excellent phone. Got it from Amazon. De for about 240 all in. Ariived in exactly 1 week from order.

I went through all of the APN settings with them, I haven't checked the settings in that link but I'd imagine they're the same.
I'm still having the same issue when I'm at home but what I've noticed is that when I'm outdoors the mobile data works on my phone so it's obviously a signal issue when I'm indoors. Why I don't know, for months mobile data worked fine at home and then all of a sudden it stopped.
