    Hi all,

I'm going to a christening with my boyfriend in a few weeks for his nephew. Does anyone have an idea of the normal type of gift to give for a boy's christening? Clothes have already been given when he was born and I was thinking something a bit more personal/lasting would be more appropriate!?...

Any advice would be appreciated from any ladies who know!!

    Thanks :)

Newbridge Silverwear do lot's of 'baby' and 'Christening' type gifts which include money boxes, photo frames, boxes for baby's first tooth and hair, etc. Some of the stuff is really nice. Plus it's something that will last for years and years.

You could consider a mug & bowl set - Beatrix Potter?

If you are in Dublin look at Tierneys (think Ilac Centre and Stephen's Green Centre) they have a good variety of christening gifts, in silver/Newbridge Weirs Jewellers have a large selection and no more pricey than Arnotts or Clerys.

A friend of mine had a baby and I took loads of pics at the christening, making sure I got a picture of everyone there and some nice ones of the church itself. I then used them to order a photobook on snapfish.com and they were absolutely delighted with it.

For my baby cousins, we got them "Prize Bonds".

    More info about them here:

I have no affilation/connections with/to Prize Bonds or any of the websites I have provided links to.

A friend of ours had a baby and we got a basket made up with the bay's name embroidered on towels, and a baby blanket. It had his name, date of birth and weight on it absolutely gorgeous!
