Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Were the Tenchu games that difficult ? I know I finished them all but I can't remember how difficult they were I used to use a hit and rooftop strategy , but yeah I'm really edging towards wanting this

Yeah they were really bloody tough.

Lot's of "let's play" videos hitting YouTube. Is that usual... big reviewers uploading a let's play before they were allowed put up the official review? Anyway, just an FYI for those wanting to go in blind. I'd say there'll be spoilers doing the rounds from here on out.

I think Vaati does one for every new souls game. I assume the likes of him and Cowboy get copies from From though.

Just before this is released, twitch streamer 'the happy hobb' passed all 5 souls games without taking damage (other than fall damage, some poison damage), one after the other. Finished off with demons souls and dark souls 3 late last night/this morning. He does seem to be a bit of an ass, but quite the achievement

Ninja Garden was a brilliant game. I cleared the ones on the 360 on the hardest difficulty. Some of my favorite games ever.

That first boss is so easy... once you know what to do :)

Got stuck for ages but it's a real baptism of fire. You can't just button mash, you have to know when to dodge out of a combo. It's funny going back to that boss in hard mode after you finished the game and it's so simple, whereas at the start it's infuriating!

I remember it so clearly, he would just keep smashing you so me in my infinite youthful wisdom thought it was a DPS race.

    Oh how wrong i was.

    Great game afterwards.

Was gonna pick up Nioh Complete edition in the PS sale but I'm thinking that 20 quid could be better spent putting it towards Sekiro instead. IGN gave it 9.5, not that that means much.

Gamespot & Gameinformer have given it 9/10.
Eurogamer & Polygon have yet to finish it but their initial review is positive.

Looks like 4pm tomorrow.... but I've been stung before and have had to wait until 3am the following day for the likes of Ace combat 7 to unlock.

GameStop have it at 20quid plus a trade-in from their list if you pre-order. Goes up to 30 quid after release

Steam is designed in such a way that games need to be unlocked manually so generally, once a day all the days releases are unlocked together.
Big game releases normally get a midnight release because the publisher asks for it/pays for it. Why Activision didn't do this is strange, seeing as Fromsoftware did it for the Asian market and Namco Bandai did it for DS3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,932 ✭✭✭YouSavedMyLife

Wasn't going to buy because its 22 hours from now instead of midnight release. But i moved to Japan instead and now i can play! Yay!

30 fps and frame pacing issues. Once I got used to it it didn't bother me.

It's in the Digital Foundry analysis I posted.

I think it's a quite a stretch to call Bloodbornes performance bad. 30 FPS is grand for a souls-like and outside of Byrgenwerth the game runs fine.
No point in needlessly turning people off the console version by exaggerating the performance

It wasn't the 30fps that was the problem, it was the frame pacing. You would see it as a kind of stutter on screen.

You'll notice it but it won't ruin the game on you.

I must fire up the PS4 again and look, can't say I've ever noticed it and I've done two playthroughs

It actually was that bad for me. I'd just started Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin on PC which was out about the same time and the performance was so bad in bloodborne that I dropped the game and played Dark souls 2 for the third time.

It's not something that will ruin the game but it is a miserable experience in comparison to 60 fps. 30 fps steady I can deal with ok but it's the frame pacing that makes everything so much worse.

Have to say, unless you're looking for it you won't find it.

Played all souls games and Bloodborne for that many hours and hadn't noticed.

I say that probably as a casual gamer but are you a casual gamer putting that much time in to souls :)

Mostly, I play through a game and will do on above average difficulty but have been playing for years :)

Don't want think about it to be honest. Sure, throughout my souls experience ive definitely come across some issues but I just kept going and let the 'You died' message annoy me more, only because I did something stupid!

Well if you've not experienced it then how can you know what you are missing? However that's not really an excuse for it.

If you want to know the difference just play Nioh on performance mode and imagine what it could be like. After 5 games From still haven't got it right yet Nioh offers a performance mode with stable 60 FPS.

Basically you've got a 30 FPS game that feels like a 20 FPS game due to judder of frame pacing issues. Just compare it to Nioh, Resi 2, DMC5 or a Platinum game.

I'd over 200 hours in Bloodborne and it's my favorite game of this generation so far but I definitely saw the stuttering. Load times were pretty annoying as well though.

I'm not missing anything. I enjoyed them as they are. I've played nioh to completion twice, loved it , didn't need to delve any further.

You quite literally don't know what you're missing, nor does anyone with Bloodborne since it's console exclusive and locked to 30fps. The developers have experienced it at 60+, probably. Low FPS ruins games for me, they're not responsive to my inputs. I'm very forgiving when it comes to graphics but FPS is about the actual game.

I'm interested in this but I wonder how much re-playability it has. Perhaps I'll wait a little bit.
