Best oil/preservative for new wooden deck?

I put a deck down last autumn and and want to treat it now (pressure treated so I reckoned one winter wouldn't harm it...).

What is the best way to preserve it? I had heard of preservatives with some sort of grit in them to make it non-slip, are they available and any good?

Someone told me you could add sand to the preservative and that would work but it sounds a bit dodgy.

    So oil?, clear varnish? preservative?

    Thanks.
