what wood for garden door

    What wood would be needed to add a piece under a garden door to keep dog in . it is a just a plank but what would it need to be made of? Also on top there is what i think is a chamfer strip to allow water to run off it where it meets the door . What wood would the strip be of?

    Put up a picture of the door/ gate you want to dog "proof", otherwise it's "how long is a piece of string".....
