Hi all...firstly , Im a fan of Supermacs just not their prices recently.I emailed them for an explanation on the most recent price hikes with regard to their supersubs . 6 months ago they increased their 'chicken sandwich meal' by E1 when there was no problem with the harvest or VAT increases. I received the following regarding the latest increases.

"Unfortunately we had to increase pieces due to a number of factors.
Vat increases, minimum wages and food shortages due to the poor harvests during summer have contributed to significant costs"

Their answer, should they decide to bother their holes giving one, should be a short and sweet " because we own the place"

I remember when I was a student around mid 00's that Supermacs was dirt cheap in comparison to McDonalds...

I'm a fan of Ferrari, just not their prices...

Supeemacs fans tend to be from West of the Shannon in my experience, every town of any size seems to have one where as in leinster, only a town of above ten thousand would tend to

The vat increase doesn't come into play until January, from 9 - 13%

    Supersubs = Subway for boggers?

Supermacs used to have the Quiznos Subs franchise, is this gone?

That Chicken Breast Sandwich is the best thing on their menu hands down.

Is Boards confined to Dubliners? Supermacs has a fairly wide spread.

It’s food for pig farmers. Who cares ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,117 ✭✭✭✭Water John

Ha, there are very few pig farmers left in this country. The whole lot of them wouldn't keep one outlet open.

Looking at some of the replies, not surprised this thread came from After Hours.

I've yet to see what the fuss about Leo Burdocks is or Beschoffs for that matter.

Best chipper I've ever had in Ireland was a place in Killybegs Donegal and second best a place outside of Manchester.

The 2nd best chipper you've ever had in Ireland was from a place outside Manchester?

    :pac:

It's a little known fact that there is a Manchester in Eire

But seriously they do fish and chips over there extremely well.
