Integrated Fridge Freezer, Use As Freestanding?

    So I bought an integrated fridge freezer, but I'm waiting on the carpenter to sort the kitchen shelves/cabinet for it to fit in.

    Can it be used freestanding in the meantime? Or does it need room for ventilation underneath it?

    Thanks for your reply.

    The manual says it needs 200cm2 of ventilation underneath it. Why does it need this? It won't have this ventilation if used freestanding.

    Do you mean it has no legs? How will it have that ventilation underneath when it's standing on the plinth?

    The space where it's going to be installed, does that involve a flat plinth?

    The compressor is typically at the back which is where you need clearance for air flow, can't understand why they're asking for clearance underneath. You'd expect the machine to be on short legs if it needed air from below.

    As coylemj says the most important place for air flow is the compressor at the back as this can get hot when operating, freestanding on the floor you will have no issue, there must be adjustable feet with it otherwise how can you align it up when fitting in the unit
