Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Visiting my mother for her 86th birthday today and the electricity went at about 10pm. She immediately kicked into war setting and with the aid of the special candle that permanently sits on the mantle, she headed to the utility room to get her emergency stash of matches, candles, camper gas and cooker, whistling kettle, saucepan, tins of (outdated) creamed rice, condensed milk, beans, etc.
I boiled up some water in the whistling kettle for her hot water bottle and whilst tucking her into bed she reminded me to unplug all electrical appliances in case they got burned out if the electricity came back on during the night.
