Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. I laughed out loud at the scene where Ray literally dropped Abi when Sally came in. Brilliantly done.

Surely posh rich Paula would have family or friends to spend NYE with than alone in a back street boozer

Just watching fri nights episode now, how old is jade supposed to be??

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,281 ✭✭✭threetrees

John Stapes headstone said 1978-2011. So say Jade is 20 now, born in 2000, John Stape would have been 22 when Jade was born and she was 11 when he died. It's a bit of a stretch...

Or, if Jade is say 24, born 1996, John Stape would have been 18 when she was born and Jade would have been 15 when he died.

John stape never mentioned a daughter but Jade seemed to know a lot about him, only the good stuff mind.....

He better be more careful, it's that kind of thing that got poor old Barry O'Hanlon locked up for manslaughter.

Josh had better not get off with this. It wouldn't exactly be any encouragement for those contemplating reporting s similar assault. I found it hard to listen to David's cross examination...poor fella hasn't a minute's peace. I'm liking this caring brotherly side of Nick. I wonder how they're going to play Shons out of it? Maybe they've filmed a load of scenes ahead with her lying in the bed. Think that'd be a tad tiresome tho.

I'm guessing Josh walks free..it'll keep David busy for the next 9 months....

Yes that was strange also considering Eileen and Gail do not get on either

    I understand Roy and Billy

Would social services really just hand two kids whove just been taken from their parents to the local car mechanic. Im sure theres the equivalent of a garda vetting service hed need to pass first?? Also the actress playing fizz is actually getting worse. You'd think she'd been told her 10 euro off voucher was out of date rather than her kids have been taken off her .

Didn't Shona live with Eileen when she first came into Corrie? Somewhere at the back of my brain it's telling me there's a connection between the two.

That's right, Shona stayed with Billy and Eileen when David pushed her away after he was raped.

    I don't think it's a spoiler.
Something horrific will happen which will pit families against her. The shows boss said it was one of the worst things that could happen.
    It may be connected to
    Liz McDonald ext.
    Does anybody have any ideas?

I absolutely hated her at the start, but now I'm loving seeing the softer side of her. (even though she still has a sting like a scorpion, lol)

Can't warm to her at all - all seems a bit forced. She's no Blanche! :p

Blanche is irreplaceable. God knows they've tried with Sylvia or Gloria and now Evelyn. But Evelyn has grown on me far more than I ever expected when she first showed up giving grief to Tyrone and Roy.

I never thought I'd tolerate Abi, Gemma, Johnny or Seb when they were first introduced, now they fit in nicely as secondary cast members. Still think Gemma's mother is a poisonous old witch.

Any formally antagonistic characters that surprised you in their turnaround?

    Same. Its not natural.

And her over reacting at the surgery was too much.

Like a lot of characters they don't quite know how to write her.

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has confirmed the outcome of Josh Tucker's trial.

Viewers have recently seen David appearing in court to give evidence against his rapist, as Josh (Ryan Clayton) is standing trial in relation to two other attacks.

David is also concerned for Shona, who is in hospital after the Christmas shooting drama.

Discussing the trial, Shepherd said that Josh will receive a 15-year prison sentence but David is much more focused on Shona's condition.

"When he gets the news that Josh has got 15 years, he's numb to it really," he explained. "It doesn't really mean anything to David because he can't share the news with Shona. She's his priority, so he brushes it off for now.

"All he can focus on is Shona and when she wakes up."

Shepherd added: "[David]'s been through so much. There's a lot of anger and frustration, then there are moments when he does lose it and break down.

"But despite all that, David is still determined to stick by Shona's side no matter what and is positive that she will make a full recovery."

Shona will emerge from her coma next week, but there is devastating news for David when he learns that she doesn't recognise him and has serious memory issues.

"The doctors start to say they've done all they can for Shona at this point and she needs more specialist help. David's adamant he'll be there every step of the way, he's not giving up on her," Shepherd said.

Like a lot of characters they don't quite know how to write her.

It was a bit ott but it was good to see tears in her eyes showing emotion. I love her in the show. She has a great screen presence no matter who else is in the scene with her.

    Where is Emily Bishop??

Forget where she is actually, Rita was intending to visit her recently but she had bronchitis or something.
Would be fun to see Mavis again. Les Dennis was so funny with his impression.

This is ridiculous... as if theyd place kids with the fella who lives 3 friggin doors down the street! But uve gotta hand it to social services.....3 minutes after a call they were breaking down ths door ! Stupid.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 7,152 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hannibal_Smith

This storyline is so stupid !!! Surely it would look far worse if they did turn the kids away? How could the social worker expect them to react?

Most importantly, Fizz and Tyrone wake up to a lovely quiet house and the look as miserable as sin! :pac: :pac:

Surely she would also have to be a suspect in the made up injuries to kids .. a bit of questioning of local residents would confirm she has been living on the street the past couple of months.

Where were Fizz and Hope? Some place to help Hope? Could Social Services not talk to the people there? Rather than relying on the word of some randommer off the street?

Roy and Hayley used to foster, I suppose Roy cannot on his own now and he too is near Tyrone's house and what is happening with Roy's niece Nina?

Has anyone put out a missing persons report on Simon Barlow, the kid hasn’t been seen in months. Not that I’m complaining, he’s a moody little pr*ck

In a land where an ambulance takes hours to get there, that social worker arrived pretty quickly.

Silly idea but when harboring your kids after they have been taken off you, how about don't answer the door?

    Fizz: its so quiet.

I was expecting Tyrone to say "its lovely isn't it?"
