Why is sexism taken so much less seriously than racism in the modern western world ???

Why do people & organisations not compare like for like ?

I say this because yes we all have rights nowadays built into legislation, & yes more overt examples can lead to legal action where proof exists that it occurred.

Surely equality has further to go gender-wise in society even in family law than racism lags in leaps & strides ?????

However, many folk see it as just being too politically correct not to belittle gender as inferior for whatever reason .... or fail to place value on consequences of obvious harmful targets.

This can be swipes like we are all equal & free - even those not wishing to conform to norms - just leave it be / don't expect inclusion or equality if you are different.

However, when men are legally denied parental rights or access to the same level of help, then it can compare to women & long held concerns over safety or opportunities. Work is ongoing in this regard MAINLY in terms of litigation & changing legislation versus race / ethnicity ... which is more bluntly policed & abided to.

But in daily life even the same gender can cancel Reform - however men are more minded to defend current regimes & worry about future gains & losses.
They also provide less support to each other in terms of the future or possible changes that may affect them long-term regardless.

Many men generations ago never wanted women having access to a vote ... today men want equality in the moment they appear before the courts & will voice & promote openly as it could lead to a sudden landmark victory for themselves.

Real fear of the unknown, and a conservative mindset over what's realistically possible in the immediate here and now, along with a lack of concern for others results in slowing down propelling each other forwards for ALL of our sake's.

Men who are fathers but are not personally struggling for access to kids generally don't support men outside of their own bubble fighting for change & the same is true of guys that have no kids.
They aren't looking at the bigger picture or the injustice as it does not affect them.

Why is it okay for even the same gender to bully their own in terms of gender expectations even if outdated - and to have organisations let it slide or even side with the bullies >?????
They even use cancel culture when all else fails or refuse to be drawn into previous statements they made themselves as they try to paper over the cracks with a dismissive oh you're failing to make sense / denial.

Then if others stand up - suddenly it's accusations of cancel culture by the instigators of cancel culture; so no matter what happens they cancel arguments but when challenged they allege the reverse.

All this too often plays out when the topic itself unequally benefits some at severe expense & harm to others

    Make me a sammich

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Well why don't you change that by standing alongside & being there for guys because sexism works both ways as does inequality.

Some men are unhappy over being treated unequally by both men & women not to mention societal structures, norms & favour shown in the eyes of the law in one regard or another ....

Women more likely to gain custody of kids / men more likely to be handed longer sentence even if men & women commit a crime together

But in general dismissing inequality does not help anyone

What are you doing about it, exactly?

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

Well for anybody that has experienced sexism & happens to stumble upon my posts - they may benefit even from being able to relate & have it affirmed to them that it IS wrong.

It may open up their thought process for them to think about possibilities for themselves & others beyond their own usual issues & general opinions.

If they decide to act differently even within their own circle they can impact others as well as creating a domino effect.

A little goes a long way in time, but if somebody reading posts such as mine can tread a different line they might positively change their life, help someone else when they're down & be motivated to ask or observe instead of being blind. Chipping away bit by bit can eventually change culture & sometimes sudden changes takes everyone by surprise in the end.

Empathy can evade people because they don't picture themselves in the same circumstance as others, or fail to have someone side with them when it matters. If you care about others you may stop & listen, ask or give advice, or maybe show support by sharing their cause onwards.

    What about you ????????????????

You use lots of words & construct some sentences yet manage to convey so little meaning
