Florencecourt is worth a visit, you can take the boardwalk up the mountain, or visit the stately home. Be aware its just across the border so you need sterling and its busy at the weekends but well worth a visit.
If you`re travelling south the area around Dromod is super at this time of the year, 3 great pub/restaurants in the village- Cox`s, Brandywell and Copper Still, Cox`s probably stand out. Be careful of Carrick on Shannon in the evenings, seems its hen night capital of the world these days. Lough Rynn Castle in Mohill is a good spot too, plenty of interesting walks and a 4 star hotel with good food.
Altogether Leitrim has loads to offer

Lough Key has an activity park as well- Zipit and an escape from game https://loughkey.ie/activities/boda-borg/ Across from Lough Key is Tullyboy farm, I know it's aimed more towards kids but it's a very enjoyable day out too. Boyle with the Abbey is also out that direction, as is Parke's Castle.
Carrick has the Dock arts centre if you want a bit of culture, also the 'Smallest Chapel in Ireland' on main st. There's a few lovely areas to walk around the shannon there & the cinema. Moon river also runs hour long cruises on the water as well.
Think Lough Allen adventure centre do lessons (kayaking/canoeing) too but have no idea so maybe get in touch if it might interest you? You also have Moorlands equestrian centre in Drumshanbo but as you're in Drumcoura it mightmake more sense to try a spot of western style riding! Arigna mines mentioned above is an interesting tour, especially on a roasting hot day as it's lovely and cool in the mines!
More close to where you're staying there's Glenview folk museum, it's literally right beside the turn off for Drumcoura but i've only passed it, never been in. Cloone is a dinky little village between Ballinamore & Mohill, has a newly built walking area under the village called 'Bother na Naomh' and can highly recommend it. Places along it to stop for picnics as well. Keeldra lake is just a mile or so from Cloone, really clean water, has swimming lessons first fortnight of july so you might be out of luck for swimming in it.

Food places- Carrick is great for a small lunch next to the water, Cryans or Coffees are right next to the water. Am not too sure of evening food but there's a pub 'The Oarsman' there that's won awards for its food- it's close to the distillery where they make gin too. Gunpowder gin perhaps? The food market on Thursdays is always worth a look too for fresh fruit/veg/fish/flowers/trinkets. There's also a lovely pub for food in Ballinamuck- Dillons, would highly recommend.

Ask away if you've any more questions. :)

(depending on your timing in july 'An Tóstal' in Drumshanbo & Carrick festival may be on)
