    The 1848 Tricolour Celebration marks the conception and unveiling of the Irish Tricolour Flag by Thomas Francis Meagher in 1848 at 33 The Mall, Waterford City.
    The programme of events gives Irish people everywhere a platform to celebrate lasting peace on this island, captured beautifully in the colours of ‘An Bhratach Náisinta,’ our national flag.



    When: Sunday 6th of March 2011 - 1pm

    Where: The House of Waterford Crystal

    If you are planning on attending the 1848 Flag Raising ceremony in Waterford city this Sunday or you would like to attend but can't be there in person, please click on the facebook like button, make a comment and you will help spread the word about the celebration. (Don't forget to tell Mammies, Daddies, Grannies and Grandads who aren't on facebook about it too!)
    Bring your kids along to the Mall and be filled with pride as the Irish Flag is raised by the Irish Navy, attended by the Mayor and guests from across the world, with Music, Singing, Acting & Speeches. Look out for the free Irish flags for the kids attending!
    The 1848 Tricolour Celebration commemorates the unveiling of the Irish flag in Waterford City aims to celebrate it's peaceful symbolism.
